Puracy 4x Natural vs. Leading Natural Brand
We receive a lot of questions about our products, but the one that tops the list is, “how well does it work?” This is our first published test, and likely the most relatable to many of you. We will continue to put our products to the test and share the results with you, even if the results are less than favorable for Puracy. In the end, it is about putting the best product in your hands.
In our minds, a laundry detergent not only had to be plant and mineral-based, safe, sustainable, non-toxic, and gentle enough for a baby, but it also had to work…really well. After all, life is messy.
There were a host of different stains we could choose from, though we felt a kid-based selection suited this test appropriately. All of the stains are from everyday sources that kids are likely to come in contact with. They also cover many different types of stains including fruits, vegetables, soil, and oils. We tested:
As illustrated, we mashed up each stain-inducing ingredient and rubbed into each brand new onesie. These were then kept out at room temperature for 6 hours to completely dry and set the stains. We then shook off any excess and washed separately.
Our stain-inducing and washing methods were identical for each detergent tested.
In this review, we used the same washer and dryer (GE High Efficiency) and ran the competitor first, then Puracy second. We used half the recommended amount of detergent since we were washing an individual garment. The cycle we used was “Cottons, Heavy Soil, Fast Spin, Hot Water”. Afterwards, we dried the onesie on medium heat.
Results:
Puracy Leading Natural Brand
Note: All of the stain-inducing ingredients left over were either consumed or composted following the test.
